Heritage

Born of necessity — the toolmaking arm of Zenith Records, behind every mould we fabricate.

Zenith Tool & Die was born of necessity — a wholly owned subsidiary of Zenith Records, who have been pressing records for 20-odd years. The moulds and parts needed to keep legacy record presses in production were either unavailable, or still made to 40–50-year-old designs that did not necessarily produce decent quality pressings. So we started fabricating our own.

Today the group works as one: Zenith Records presses records end-to-end — lacquer cutting, plating, pressing — Zenith Tool & Die fabricates the tooling that keeps the presses running, and Magnetic South, the distribution arm, carries the finished records out into the world.

Customers come to us for tight tolerances and fast turnaround — and stay because we understand the press, the compound and the record, not just the drawing.
