Zenith Tool & Die (Est. 2019) fabricates moulds to suit current and legacy vinyl record presses, with an emphasis on moulds, pins, bushes and 2-barrel extruders, plus new extruders and auxiliary equipment. A wholly owned subsidiary of Zenith Records (zenithrecords.org), pressing records for 20-odd years. Group includes Magnetic South (distribution). Tight tolerances, fast turnaround.
Vinyl record press moulds (main focus, current and legacy presses) · Mould pins & bushes · 2-barrel extruders · Auxiliary equipment · General CNC machining for the vinyl record industry.
The industry still runs on mould engineering frozen in 1972. Zenith moulds are milled from high-grade 4140 tool steel with proprietary flow-simulated internal circuits, batch-matched and qualified under thermal imaging: 20–25% faster cycles, elimination of dish warpage, a 500,000-record warranty (in-house resurface and descaling), drop-in compatibility with Lened, SMT, Hamilton, Finebuild, legacy Alpha Toolex, modern Pheenix AD12 and Newbilt presses, and all centre profiles (45° or parallel bush centres, Columbia-style, UK-spec 1/2-inch). Three proprietary mould architectures available now.
Born of necessity: legacy press moulds and parts were unavailable or made to 40–50-year-old designs producing poor pressings, and three years of outside toolmakers failed — so Zenith built its own CNC shop under complete control.
